Right now the getting is Good...Google just released the product a few days ago and it's seems very exciting...you can publish your articles, edit the html, add images and even link up your adsense account..WOW!! The Adsense account really made me think....if I can build hundreds of knol pages and link my adsense account with the pages then thats a very huge potential for some adsense cash!!
I see in the near future that Google will place a large emphasis on Google knol....you will do a search and Google will highlight in some way the Google knol pages....So say you do a search on Internet marketing...Google then will say "results from Google knol" ....just like images, shopping, news, books etc...Google will place a huge amount of emphasis on their own products and give a favorable amount of credit to the knol pages....So if you haven't built one yet..then do it now! Ezinearticles, squidoo etc just got some huge competition!! The links are nofollow however the traffic isn't ;)
Also if you do affiliate marketing I got an email earlier today about a webpage that helps you keep track of the payouts and such of affiliate networks...Learn more about ad networks now..

Google has been negotiating back and forth for the past month or so with Digg to become Googles Authoritive news source. The deal is for 200 million. The deal is supposedly in final negotiations, however it could easily fall apart. But just think if 5 years from now the serps were votable up or down....crazy!!

If you do submit your site to lots of directories than an easy way to get your listing crawled by Google faster is to bookmark the page that your listing is on using onlywire or socialmarker....Because most directories will have your listing pretty deep in their site.

You can comment on other peoples blogs to get referral traffic and link juice. Great free tool for this is http://www.commentkahuna.com/ you can find dofollow blogs and pretty much automate the process of commenting on blogs....

You can use the power of social web 2.0 sites to gain links, traffic and brand trust.

http://www.thisnext.com - Social shopping, This next is great for Ecommerce sites.
http://www.hoobly.com - High PR classified site. Easily add your products and since they have such a high PR your listing will show up in minutes.
http://www.squidoo.com Make pages about your site and add multiple elements such as videos, rss feeds, links, articles etc...
http://www.zimbio.com - Make your own "Wikizine" - Wikizine is basically just a page that everyone can add or edit content...You can add your rss feed and then Zimbio will ping your feed and fetch the content...It's best to change up the content a little before publishing to Zimbio to avoid any duplicate filters for Google.
http://www.hubpages.com - Make a page, add elements...
These are just a few but of course theirs tons and tons more that almost everyone knows about such as youtube, myspace, facebook, digg etc...heres a huge list.

Its best to use unique, original, never before published content on your pages that you build and use 3 or more keywords in your title of your page..Link to your pages you build too.....Also some pages that you build will allow you to add rss feeds...Add them...You can build a squidoo page and add the rss feeds from your other squidoo pages, hubpages, article feeds, blogs etc....
#5 - Make a link bait page
Like above in this list their are two link bait pages...The first is a list of article directories and the other is a list of social sites....as you can see it works because I linked to them...
You can compile a useful report in your niche like the Top 15 worst celebrity plastic surgery procedures. Or Top 20 bloggers. Or hottest women online. Do something different, useful, funny, sexy in your niche and people will link to it naturally.
#6 Viral Widget...
EX: Mclovin ID maker...this movie was big in the US..You can simply add your photo and you have a Mclovin ID...the viral link building happens when a user takes the Mclovin ID code which has a link back to their site "Mclovin ID" and they place it on their myspace, website, blog etc...many more examples here

If you do this type of widget make sure that you make it very clear that if a person places the code on their website, myspace etc..that they know that they are linking back to your website...if you have no editorial guidelines and you are not relevant Google will slap the crap out of you.
#7 Be controversial...
Ex: If someone big in your niche spouts off about something then disagree with them...sometimes that person or website in your niche will notice and link to you..

If you do disagree and are controversial then have a valid point other than the link bait.
#8 Make up a Fake News Story and Make it look real...
Ex: A recent marketer made up this fake news story that was syndicated all across the net. The story was very entertaining and spread like a plague across the net..

If you happen to do this or try it then make sure you keep your mouth shut and don't get caught...or you'll be slapped..
#9 Social Bookmarking
Use services like onlywire and social marker to automatically bookmark your quality pages to the popular social bookmarking websites.
#10 Push the free line
Give away a useful free ebook, build a tool that is useful for your niche and give it away for free, make a video explaining how to build a website and give it away for free etc.....Giving quality, useful stuff away for free is one of the best ways ever to brand yourself and build trust in your community.
