Google recently announced that within the next week or so they are going to go full scale with Google suggest. This update to Google.com will help searchers easily find popular keyword phrases they are looking for that others have recently searched for as well. This IMO will have a pretty big effect on SEO....like plural and singular searches, misspellings, acronyms and result in some market higher bid prices in Adwords and will have a reinforcing effect on already popular searched phrases...
As you can see a search for popular wedding phrases pulls up almost all plural versions of popular wedding terms....
So this will have an effect on these terms...wedding dress will not get searched as much as it did before neither will wedding cake, wedding ring etc will not see as much traffic as they once did and will have a reinforcing effect on the search suggest keywords...hence their in search suggest so the other terms that are not in suggest wont get searched as much but the ones that are will get loads more...Considering most folks are lazy and will immediately drop down to the phrases of choice....
The same thing will misspelled words...The misspelled keyword market will diminish in value and will cause higher prices in Adwords....This new feature will cause higher bid prices, because the businesses that relied on misspelled phrases wont see as much traffic and will be either have to work on their seo or bid higher in Adwords or find other means of traffic...
Acronyms will lose almost all of their search value....because searchers will use the search suggest to complete their queries....
So if I was you I would nail down your market and see if your plural and singular terms are both showing up in suggest...if they aren't then you'd better work on the one that is showing up in search suggest...So if your targeting wedding dress, then you'd better put more emphasis on wedding dresses...because it's showing up in search suggest and wedding dress isn't..
Also you will see an increase in long tail searches as well....

These terms will get more traffic! Why? Because people are lazy and they'll use suggest to fill in their queries....some phrases the person searching probably would have never thought of before search suggest existed...So drill your market and find the phrases that are showing up...and put them to use.....Search suggest can be used as a great keyword list builder too....So just something to think about next time your doing a search or mapping out the seo plan of your site....This will be a factor.....
You may or may not know but right now I've been trying to put together another ecommerce site....During my process of building this site I need to get some live chat software.....I came across a company that offers this live chat software at a really cheap price....I know why now...Their gaming their paid customers to hoard links and rank high in Google.....
The free live chat software and paid software both have links in the live chat button....however only the free version you can visually see the text link....but when you purchase the software it disappears only to be placed in the code....You can't modify the code in anyway or the software wont work....so when many many people come to volusion and pick up the free and paid version of the software volusion is getting a backlink...
I picked up the free version at first just to see....then I thought about it and say no...I dont want a link to them on my site....well this is what I thought anyway....
As you can see the paid version says it...no text link under click to chat icon....So I assumed since I was paying for this service that I would not be giving volusion a link....however ....it is very misleading....notice the phrase no text link....yeh when you buy the software your not giving them a text link...but your still giving them a link...they just hid the link in the code....So now all the free and paid customers they get will be giving them one of the two links.... free live chat software...and live chat software....both keywords their ranking #1 and #2 in Google....Now I can see getting a link for the free software since your providing a free service...and it plainly says that it will have a text link in it....But the paid version! The paid version still has a link but it's not text.....So their gaming all of their paid customers by using a misleading phrase..such as no text link under live chat icon....In my eyes I figured their would be no link ....I wasn't thinking they was hoarding these links in the code.....
So is this ethical, does it have a editorial process? Well it is very boarder line....With the sneaky wording.....they should atleast tell people that your not giving a text link but a link in the code....but just think of the all the links their getting....almost 2 million links....what a way to game your customers with sneaky coded links you can't modify....but I have a feeling that they'll get slapped by Google ....... :)
This is not a joke.....If you want access to over 1000 websites and the ability to build tons of referral traffic and higher rankings then I've got an invite for you.....Now you must click this link right now and go sign up...It's $149.00 a month but let me tell you that is a drop in the bucket...You can publish articles with links to over 1000 websites at a click of a button ...really!!! You also get access to lots and lots of other tools that I use that help skyrocket my rankings...But having access to over 1000 websites is the holy grail of internet marketing...It's like having syndication like fox news...Its no joke...Go now...now time is running out...and that is no hype.....Go!!!!
